Soler Struggles in Outfield as Braves Drop Fourth Straight
Soler Errors Highlight Braves' Defensive Woes
MILWAUKEE -- Jorge Soler's defensive struggles were highlighted during the Braves' 8-5 loss to the Brewers on Saturday. Soler, who has played zero innings in the field this year, made several errors in right field, including one that led to a run scoring.
The Braves, who have now lost four straight games, are struggling to find consistency on both sides of the ball. Soler's struggles in the outfield are just one example of the team's defensive woes.
Despite Soler's struggles, the Braves still have a chance to make the playoffs. They are currently in third place in the NL East, just 1.5 games behind the first-place Phillies.
Atlanta Braves Manager Brian Snitker Argues
ATLANTA -- Atlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker was ejected from Saturday's game against the Brewers after arguing a call by home plate umpire Adam Hamari.
The incident occurred in the top of the fourth inning with the Braves trailing 4-0. Soler was at bat with one out and runners on first and second when he hit a ground ball to first baseman Rowdy Tellez.
Tellez fielded the ball and threw it to second baseman Kolten Wong, who stepped on second base to force out Austin Riley. However, Hamari ruled that Riley was safe, and Snitker immediately came out of the dugout to argue the call.
Hamari ejected Snitker after a brief argument. Bench coach Walt Weiss took over as manager for the rest of the game.
